The 2010 and 2011 winters were tough on the pheasants and the very wet spring made for poor nesting conditions.  Our commitment to establishing and maintaining great pheasant habitat allowed us to shoot limits daily even though the statewide general conditions weren’t ideal.  Over 750 wild pheasants were harvested.  We do not release or supplement our fields with pen raised birds.  All hunts are 100% wild birds.  This winter has been very mild and we are expecting another great pheasant season in 2012.  Pheasant season opens October 20, 2012.  Visit us at the National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic at the Kansas City Convention Center February 17-19, 2012.

The spring turkey season was cold, wet, sometimes miserable but still very successful.  Many great lifetime memories, one world slam, a couple of grand slams, and two eight year old hunters each harvested a pair of gobblers.  Twenty gun hunters and seven archers combined to harvest 52 long beards.

The 2012 turkey archery season opens March 25 in Nebraska and April 7 in South Dakota.  The youth hunt opens April 7th in both states.  The Nebraska youth non-resident license is only $5 for those under age 16 and we offer all youth hunts for half price.  Shotgun season opens April 14th in both Nebraska and South Dakota.  The South Dakota turkey first draw deadline is February 17.

Duck season produced over 400 ducks with 17 different species of waterfowl being taken.  Only one banded duck this year.  Waterfowl hunting habitat was fantastic this year and the hunting opportunities proved it.  2012 duck season dates are not set, but the proposed start date is September 29, 2012.

REMINDER that reserved hunting dates will not be held for more than five days without a deposit.  Get your deposits in to hold the dates you want.
