Waterfowl Hunts (Ducks, Geese, Sandhill Cranes, Tundra Swans) The prairie pothole region of eastern South Dakota, nesting region for nearly all of North Americas waterfowl species, sets the stage for our early season hunt. (October) The unbelievable numbers and diversity of waterfowl make limits a daily routine. Upon freeze-up (November – January) we move our hunt over decoys on the big waters of the Missouri river where 500,000 Canada geese and 300,000 mallards concentrate at the peak of migration. We also effectively hunt from pits in nearby grain fields.
